Nosferatu the Vampire is on the way

Anchor Bay Home Entertainment is working on yet another horror classic, and treating it with the respect that Anchor Bay has become famous for. Nosferatu the Vampire, the 1979 Herzog remake of the 1922 film is just as recognized as the original. A new two-disc set will make Nosferatu a force to reckon with.

It is 1850 in the beautiful town of Wismar. Jonathan Harker is about to leave on a long journey, despite desperate warnings from his wife Lucy. Upon his arrival, he is greeted by a pale, wraith-like figure with deep-sunken eyes, who identifies himself as Count Dracula. The events that transpire convince Harker that he is in the presence of a vampire. What he doesn’t know is the magnitude of danger he, his wife and his town face as victims of the Nosferatu.

Disc one will contain the English version of the film in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 along with a theatrical trailer. The second disc contains the German version with the same specs and an audio commentary with Werner Herzog and Normal Hill. The featurette “The Making of Nosferatu” and filmographies will also be featured on the second disc.

A $29.98 suggested retail price will come with the set when it arrives on July 9th. Preorder your copy now from the DVD Review Store for only $20.99!
