Ice Age looms on the horizon

The animated hit of spring is coming to DVD as a two-disc special edition this Thanksgiving, the computer generated prehistoric tale Ice Age is coming from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

In the times leading to the impending Ice Age, a sloth named Sid, a woolly mammoth named Manny, a saber-toothed tiger named Diego, and an acorn-loving saber-toothed squirrel named Scrat must ban together to save a human child.

Following in the footsteps of other recent big budget family releases, the two disc set will have a plethora of extras aimed at the younger crowd without offending the movie collector. The film will be presented in both fullscreen and in anamorphic widescreen. Audio will be provided in Dolby Digital 5.1. The extras begin with an audio commentary, deleted scenes, a brief HBO featurette, “The Making of Ice Age” documentary, a multi-angle scene exploration, “Scrat” interstitials, “Blue Sky” featurette, character development still galleries, interactive games “Playing Darwin”, “Hide and Eek” and “Frozen Pairs”, the animated short “Bunny”, theatrical trailers and TV spots. DVD-ROM features include games and several coloring-book style features.

With a retail price of $29.95, “Ice Age” will street on 11/26.
