A new special edition DVD is on the way for the recent drama John Q. The DVD coming from New Line Home Entertainment as part of the Infinifilm line will arrive in July.

Denzel Washington stars in this powerful drama about a father who takes extreme measures to save his son’s life when his insurance company refuses to cover his son’s heart transplant surgery.

The widescreen presentation of the film will be preserved on DVD and will be combined with audio tracks in DTS 5.1 Dolby Digital 5.1 and stereo. A filmmaker commentary by Nick Cassavetes, James Kearns, Mark Burg and Roger Stoffers will also be available as an audio option. Other features include the documentary “Behind the Scenes of John Q”, deleted and alternate scenes with optional director commentary, a trailer and DVD-ROM content round out the disc.

Arriving on July 16th, the film will carry a suggested retail price of $26.99. It is available for preorder now at the DVD Review Store for $18.89.
