Fox hires some Super Troopers

The independent film from Fox Searchlight about overzealous highway troopers never did find its audience, but that may change meow that Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has decided to release Super Troopers this summer.

Always looking for action, five over-enthusiastic, but under-stimulated Vermont State Troopers raise hell on the highway, keeping motorists anxiously looking in their rear view mirrors. Between an ongoing feud with the local cops over whose you-know-what is bigger and the state government wanting to shut them down, the Super Troopers find themselves patrolling the boundaries of good taste as they hilariously and unwittingly skid towards solving the crime of their lives.

Presented with a surprising number of extras, the disc will contain a featurette,
a theatrical trailer, deleted scenes, with commentary, outtakes, 13 extended scenes and an alternate ending. Hmmm. Between the deleted, extended, and alternate scenes, one is forced to wonder how much of this film has yet to be seen. The film will be presented in anamorphic widescreen with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround 2.0.

The DVD will hit home video on August 6th, but you can order it meow at the DVD Review Store for $18.89…. Meow.
