Warner Brothers discusses The Affair of the Necklace

The recent period film The Affair of the Necklace failed to get Oscar attention, but did win the hearts of many viewers. Warner Brothers Home Entertainment is preparing a handsome DVD release later this summer.

Hillary Swank stars as 18th century French countess Jeanne De La Motte Valois, whose title was stripped from her by the Royal Family during the late 18th Century. The gripping tale, full of mystery and intrigue, tells of her fight to restore her name and regain her royal status with a treacherous scheme to acquire a 2800-carat diamond necklace at the center of it all.

A new anamorphic widescreen transfer graces the elegant look of the film. Additional materials include eleven minutes of additional scenes with commentary, a gag reel, a running audio commentary with director Charles Shyer, Designing Affair, a documentary on the period design of the film, HBO’s First Look behind-the-scenes documentary and a theatrical trailer.

Coming on June 25th, the disc can be owned for $26.98 suggested retail price. Preorder the disc now at the DVD Review Store for only $17.47!
