It is time to retire the old 1997 flipper DVD release of the highly inspired drama Amadeus as Warner Home Video is preparing a new Director’s Cut 2-disc Special Edition for this film.

Directed by Milos Forman, “Amadeus” is the gripping and dramatic period epic, telling the story and celebrating the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This marvelous winner of eight Academy Awards portrays the rivalry between the genius Mozart (Tom Hulce) and the jealous court composer Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham) who may have ruined Mozart’s career and shortened his life.
