Columbia TriStar plans Mission Kashmir

In recent months, Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment has provided many films from its foreign library. The Indian drama Mission Kashmir is now in the pipeline for a June release.

Set in the war-torn Kashmir Valley between 1989 and 1999, “Mission Kashmir” is a story of Altaff, an 11-year-old Kashmiri boy whose family is massacred in front of his eyes by state police hunting a rebel leader. His life is never the same after the deaths, and he is adopted by Inayat Khan, the officer in charge of the raid, and his loving wife Neelima, whose son has just died in a freak accident.

The film will receive a new anamorphic widescreen transfer with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio tracks in both Hindi and English.
Coming June 4th, “Mission to Kashmir” will carry a $29.95 suggested retail price.
