Black Hawk Down is on the horizon as a Special Edition

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment has two special editions in
the works for two very different war films; last year’s gritty Gulf War
drama Black Hawk Down and the bizarre sci-fi adventure
Starship Troopers.

“Black Hawk Down” tells the story of October 3, 1993, when 100 U.S. Army Rangers were dropped by helicopter deep into the capital city of Mogadishu to capture two top lieutenants of a Somali warlord. When firefighting breaks out and two U.S. Black Hawk helicopters are destroyed, the survivors of the crash must return to safety through the hostile Somali nation.

Paul Verhoeven’s adaptation of “Starship Troopers” is set in the distant future, when Earth has adopted a world government based on citizen classes, Johnny signs up to fight the war against the Klendathu aliens when his home and family are destroyed. Its all out war as human faces off against bug.

No specific details are yet available on either release, but “Starship
Troopers” will be a two-disc set scheduled for release on May 28, while “Black Hawk Down” will be released on June 11th. We will keep you posted as new infomration on these titles comes in.
