Soul Man is on the way from Anchor Bay

Anchor Bay has uncovered a gem lost in the wilderness of eighties comedies. The funny and thoughtful Soul Man is coming this spring.

Mark Watson needs a scholarship to get into Harvard Law School. There’s one available for a black student. The only problem is that Mark’s not black, yet. But thanks to an overdose of tanning pills, a new hair-do and a lowered voice, he miraculously passes for African-American and receives full tuition. Now with the help of his excessive best friend, a fierce professor and the beautiful classmate he falls in love with, Mark is about to learn some once-in-a-lifetime lessons about racism, discrimination, sex-crazed white girls and basketball.

A new anamorphic widescreen transfer is being prepared for the upcoming disc to go along with the film’s original Dolby Surround 2.0 audio. Also included will be an audio commentary with Steve Miner and C. Thomas Howell a theatrical trailer and teaser.

For $14.98, you can pick up the comedy on April 19th.
