David Lynch fans, prepare for a Blue Velvet Special Edition this summer

Recently MGM Home Entertainment has discontinued their original release of David Lynch’s film Blue Velvet. Now the studio has revealed that a Special Edition is on the way for release in June.

A man returns to his home town after being away and discovers a severed human ear in a field. Not satisfied with the police’s pace, he and the police detective’s daughter carry out their own investigation. The object of his investigation turns out to be a beautiful and mysterious woman involved with a violent and perversely evil man.

“Blue Velvet” will come with a new anamorphic widescreen transfer that has been supervised by David Lynch, and contain a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital audio track in English, as well as language tracks in French and Spanish.

As extras, the DVD will contain a Documentary called “Mysteries Of Love” featuring new interviews with stars Kyle MacLachlan, Isabella Rossellini, Dennis Hopper and Laura Dern, as well as rare interview footage with David Lynch. “Are You A Pervert?” is a Deleted Scenes Featurette that will also be part of the release, as well as a Photo Gallery, Promotional Materials and more.

The “Blue Velvet Special Edition” will be available on June 4 and carry a suggested retail price of $24.98. Support DVD Review and preorder your copy today at Shop In Digital for only $17.49!
