Columbia TriStar is getting ready to release the inspirational Race the Sun on DVD.

Race the Sun is a fictionalized account of the exploits of an Hawaii high school (Konawaena Intermediate and High School on the Big Island of Hawaii) in the 1990 World Solar Challenge in Australia, an outdoor race featuring solar-powered vehicles.

The new DVD will present the film in both widescreen and fullscreen with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1, but will contain no features short of a theatrical trailer.

Coming on April 30th, “Race the Sun” will have a suggested retail price of $19.95.
