MGM revisits Bull Durham

MGM Home Entertainment takes another look back into their library with a new special edition release of the movie that turned the sports movie on its ear; Bull Durham is coming this April as a new SE DVD.

Crash, Nuke, and Annie all have their own perspective on the Durham Bulls. The last place minor league team is in trouble and somehow it falls to the young hotshot Nuke, the old coach Crash, and the ever-present groupie Annie to save the team, if they can only figure out how to deal with each other.

A new anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen transfer await you on the new DVD as well as a soundtrack in Dolby Digital 5.1. A new commentary is included with the stars Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins. A documentary the film as well as a brief “Sports Wrap” featurette are also included. The disc is wrapped up nicely with TV Spots a theatrical trailer and a profile on star Kevin Costner.

“Bull Durham” will come in a special new packaging for a limited time and will then be replaced with a more conventional packaging down the road. The specially packaged version will arrive on April 2nd, and carry a $24.95 suggested retail price.
