When Strangers Appear they do it on DVD

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment is preparing a new digital presentation for the psychological thriller When Strangers Appear, due in stores in late January.

When Beth opens her remote roadside diner, it seems to be yet another routine, hot summer, and a deathly quiet day. She has no idea that the first customer to walk through the door will throw her world into a spin. Jack is a twenty-something, scared and jumpy kid who enters the diner, with not much money, but a lot on his mind. He claims a trio of surfers is chasing him, but when the trio arrives they seem to be just friendly, down-to-earth guys. Already suspicious of her community, Beth doesn’t know who to trust in this group of newcomers. It’s not in Beth’s nature to be unkind, but in helping Jack she is putting her own life in peril. The surfers say Jack’s a road-rage lunatic, Jack claims they are trying to kill him. Meanwhile the only person in town that Beth trusts has disappeared. Beth must unravel the tangle of truths, half-truths and lies that are spinning around her, and she better do it soon or be the next target.

Presented in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby 2-channel surround sound, “When Strangers Appear” is viewable in either anamorphic widescreen or fullscreen. The DVD will feature bonus trailers and filmographies. January 29th, 2002 is the release date.
