Warner presents Uprising

After last week’s premiere of the powerful NBC original miniseries Uprising, Warner Brothers Home Video has announced an upcoming DVD release for the special with some additional features, which should make for a very interesting package.

Never before has the story of World War II been told from this perspective. The strength, courage and perseverance of the few brave Jewish resistance fighters who were able to keep the Nazis out of their town, and hold them back longer than the entire Polish Army.

Presented in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, the disc will contain many features in addition to the film including “Resistance” – a historical documentary about real Uprising survivors Kazik and Eddleman, “Breaking Down the Walls: The Road to Recreating the Warsaw Ghetto” Documentary with behind-the-scenes footage, two audio commentaries, one by director Jon Avnet, and one with actors Leelee Sobieski, Hank Azaria, David Schwimmer and Jon Voight. The disc will also contain DVD-ROM content.

Coming on December 18th of this year, “Uprising” will carry a $24.98 suggested retail price.
