Good Grief, Bad News Bears are back in action

Long before Keanu Reeves led a ragtag team of misfits to little league glory, or Emilio Estevez coached the Mighty Ducks to victory, the original misfits wrote the book on the subject. The Bad News Bears are coming back, but this time on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment. Bad News Bears, Bad News Bears in Breaking Training and Bad News Bears Go To Japan are all going digital this coming February.

“Bad News Bears” is a carefree and touching story about a down-and-out Little League baseball team, The Bears, that is rescued by a cigar-chomping, beer-guzzling former pitcher (Walter Matthau). Tatum O’Neal co-stars as the ace pitcher who helps save the day.

“Bad News Bearrs in Breaking Training” begins with the Bears reigning supreme as the little league champions of California. Sentiments abound when Kelly, the Bears’ star player, travels with the team to the Houston Astrodome along with his estranged father, who is now the coach. They’re playing a between-inning game against the local champs, the Houston Toros, for the chance to go to Japan and play the best that the east has to offer.

The delinquents of the diamond are back for the final installment of the series in “Bad News Bears Go To Japan”. Curtis is enjoyable as a talent agent who’s out to exploit the kids when they travel to the Orient for the Little League World Series in Tokyo. Their opponent is a team from Japan. Their mission? Win the game and manage to return without starting World War III.

All three films will be presented in anamorphic widescreen with their original mono soundtracks. The original film will also contain a new Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. Unfortunately, this original underdogs will come with no supplements at all.

Available on February 12th, all three DVDs will be priced at $24.95.
