Columbia TriStar gives new life to The 6th Day

The most recent Arnold Schwarzenegger film to hit the big screen came in recent months as a somewhat disappointing DVD. But fear not, if better humans can be cloned in the future, surely better DVDs can be cloned today, and Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment is doing just that with a new release of the sci-fi morality play The 6th Day.

In the not too distant future when cloning plants, pets and human organs is accepted, a sinister corporation has begun illegally duplicating entire human beings. They mistakenly clone the wrong man, a man who is now the only one with the power to expose their evil. They desperately want to kill him, but he will do anything to reclaim his family and life.

Coming as a two disc set from Columbia TriStar, the first disc contains the movie with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. The disc will also contain an audio commentary by Composer Trevor Rabin accompanying a 5.1 Isolated Music Score. The second disc is filled with a trove of goodies including On the 6th Day, a new behind-the-scenes featurette, the Showtime Special: The Future is Coming, three storyboard comparisons, two animatics RePet infomercial and TV spot, theatrical trailers, filmographies and a DVD-ROM link to the web.

Priced at $24.95, the new special edition hits shelves on January 22nd helping Arnold fulfill his famous mantra, “I’ll be back”.
