Columbia TriStar cooks up some Tortilla Soup

Still showing in some arthouse theaters around the country, the independent comedy Tortilla Soup is scoring well with audiences and will come to DVD in January from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

“Tortilla Soup” is a deliciously heartwarming comedy that’s all about food, family, and a certain kind of magic that only happens around the dinner table. Martin Naranjo is the culinary genius behind a successful restaurant and the widowed father of three daughters. His passion for cooking is surpassed only by his devotion to his family and a compulsion to steer their lives in the right direction. But the girls have their own recipe for happiness. Hungry for independence, they find themselves at odds with their traditionalist father. And when a spicy, sexy widow moves down the street, Martin’s world really comes to a full boil.

Digitally mastered with both an anamorphic widescreen and a fullscreen presentation, “Tortilla Soup” contains Dolby Digital 5.1 audio tracks and subtitles in both English and Spanish. The disc also contains a theatrical trailer.

Columbia TriStar serves up a helping of “Tortilla Soup” on January 15th with a suggested list price of $27.96.
