The Big Heat is coming from Columbia TriStar

The 1953 classic The Big Heat is coming to DVD for the first time from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. One of the final American films from legendary German director Fritz Lang, “The Big Heat” marked a high point in film-noir.

Policeman Bannion’s (Glenn Ford) wife is killed by a bomb placed in his car, after he started an investigation against a big gangster with good connections. But he is not alone. Debby Marsh (Gloria Grahame), a former moll, helps him against them – but is that enough to get his man?

Presented in its original black and white fullscreen in mono. The disc will be fairly featureless, but will contain an original 1953 trailer for the film.

Coming on December 18th, “The Big Heat” will carry a list price of $24.95.
