Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella comes to disc

The classic fairy tale Cinderella came to life in 1965 with the televised premiere of the fable as told by master storytellers Rogers and Hammerstein. Over thirty five years later, the special is coming to DVD courtesy of Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

Cinderella comes to life in this enchanting version of the most beloved fairy tale of all time. A sparkling fantasy of music, magic and romance, Cinderella captivates from overture to finale with a delightful Rodgers & Hammerstein score and glittering performances from an all-star cast. Academy Award nominated Lesley Ann Warren is charming as the raggedy waif turned belle of the ball with Broadway star Stuart Damon as the Prince. Also starring Academy Award nominated Walter Pidgeon, Academy Award r winner Ginger Rogers and Academy Award winner Celeste Holm as the fairy godmother, Cinderella will waltz into the hearts of the entire family and live happily ever after as one of the most irresistible musicals ever made.

“Cinderella” is presented in its original fullscreen presentation and mono sound. The disc features bonus trailers, filmographies, a retrospective featurette, an “In My Own Little Corner” Sing-A-Long and a link to the Official Rogers and Hammerstein website.

“Cinderella” is coming on January 2, 2002. The DVD will carry a suggested retail price of $24.95.
