Touchstone goes Crazy/Beautiful

As teen romances have increased in popularity and numbers in the last few years, they have gradually grown more and more simplistic. Director John Stockwell made an effort to go against that trend with this years more somber drama Crazy/Beautiful. The film fared well at the box office, and may find new viewers when it comes to DVD courtesy of Touchstone Pictures this November.

Carlos Nunez (Jay Hernandez) is on the right track. He’s cute, he’s an “A” student and he’s Latin. Then he meets Nicole Oakley (Kirsten Dunst), Pacific Palisades local and daughter of a wealthy congressman. Contrary to his nature, Carlos is intrigued and attracted to Nicole’s unpredictability and sense of fun and adventure. Sparks fly and the romance sizzles–the only problem is.she’s trouble and he knows it. As their relationship deepens, things get more complicated for both especially Carlos’ future. Will he choose the path he’s worked for all his life or will he give it all up to be with the girl he loves?

In addition to the film, which will be presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1, the upcoming DVD will feature a making of featurette, deleted scenes, an audio commentary with director John Stockwell and star Kirsten Dunst, and a theatrical trailer.

“Crazy/Beautiful” coems to DVD on November 13th.
