New details on Beastmaster

Anchor Bay Entertainment will make many fans happy in October when it releases the long awaited fantasy adventure Beastmaster to DVD with a wealth of special features and a meticulously restored print.

He was the unborn crown prince of a family slaughtered by lords of evil. But when he grows to manhood, the warrior Dar (Marc Singer) embarks on a perilous journey to seek his revenge on the monstrous priest Maax (Rip Torn). Now with the help of a cunning hunter (John Amos), the love of a beautiful slave girl (Tanya Roberts) and the extraordinary ability to communicate with animals, Dar must battle his way through a wasteland of sorcery and black magic on the ultimate quest for freedom and vengeance.

“Beastmaster” has been given a new facelift for DVD with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and audio in both 5.1 Dolby Digital EX and 6.1 DTS ES as well as Dolby Surround. The disc will also contain an Audio Commentary with director Don Coscarelli and co-writer Paul Pepperman, Behind-the-Scenes Footage, a Trailer, Production Stills, Talent Biographies and Poster and Still Galleries. Also included in the package is a 16-page booklet of original preproduction sketches and liner notes.

This impressive new set is coming on October 23rd with a suggested retail price of $19.98.
