Dr. Doolittle 2 makes a quick leap to DVD

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is preparing Dr. Doolittle 2 for a DVD release. The sequel to the 1998 Eddie Murphy hit, makes a quick turnaround to DVD as it gets prepped for a fall release.

World-famous now for his ability to chat with animals, Dr. Dolittle has become a jet-setting lecturer and physician to people and animals alike. Add to that his responsibilities as a husband and father, and you have one overworked Doc. In the midst of this turmoil, Dolittle receives a summons from his animal friends to save their forest from unscrupulous developers. Spotting a loophole in the legal system, Dolittle devises a plan to find a mate for an endangered bear. Comic mayhem follows as Dolittle and his dog, Lucky, try to play Cupid and teach a bumbling circus bear the ways of the wild.

“Dr. Doolittle 2” will be presented with a new anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround 2.0 audio. A director’s audio commentary, making of featurette, music video, story board comparisons and a theatrical trailer will be featured on the disc as well as several documentaries “Making Movie Magic with Rythm & Hughes”, HBO’s “A Kid’s Guide to Grizzlies”, and “ Wild on the Set ”.

“Dr. Doolittle 2” is coming from Fox with a suggested retail price of $26.98. The film will arrive on October 23rd.
