Columbia TriStar prepares The Crimson Rivers

French director Mathieu Kassovitz has created a sensation in his home country with the suspenseful mystery The Crimson Rivers. The film, which has been the highest grossing film in France in some time, is now coming to America on DVD courtesy of Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

In a remote university town hidden in the icy coldness of the French Alps, a twisted killer is sending the world a message. When Commissaire Pierre Niemans (Jean Reno), France’s leading serial killer investigator, is called to investigate a grisly murder, he enters a world of secrets, lies and unthinkable horrors. The dead, whose hands and eyes have been removed, are clues to a terrible tradition the killer can no longer bear. Each murder means something more, each victim, a guilty conspirator in a grand immoral experiment.

“The Crimson Rivers” will come from Columbia TriStar with an anamorphic transfer accompanied by a Dolby Digital soundtrack. An audio commentary comes with the film featuring the film’s director and stars. Also included is an in depth making of documentary titled “The Investigation. Four behind the scenes featurettes, theatrical trailers and filmographies finish off the special features for the disc.

Get ready for this film when it will be released on October 16, carrying a suggested retail price of $24.95.
