After releasing four of the six full-length motion pictures featuring Jim Henson’s Muppets, Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment has fortunately decided to revisit the terribly fun television special A Muppet Family Christmas. The special was a special treat for Muppet fans bringing together the characters from all of Jim Henson’s programs to celebrate the holidays together.

You’re invited to a zany holiday celebration, as Fozzie Bear and all of his showbiz pals head for the country to spend Christmas at Fozzie Bear’s Mom’s farmhouse! With snow falling outside and more friends dropping by, carolers from Sesame Street and visitors from Fraggle Rock – something magical happens! The sparkle of the stage lights up the farmhouse as the Muppets share their gifts of music, a play and of course, Fozzie’s stand-up comedy act! When Miss Piggy arrives – through sleet and snow to catch Kermit under the mistletoe – the cast is complete for a warm and wonderful Christmas.

The program is presented in its original television fullscreen ratio with stereo sound. The disc will feature trailers for several Muppet films, but no other features to speak of.

“A Muppet Family Christmas” is coming on November 6th, well in time for Christmas and will carry a $19.95 list price.
