U2 Guitarist Reveals Plans For DVD, TV Show

Rock band, U2 has a couple of things in mind for the footage shot at its recent Boston show. During a chat with fans on the group’s official website, singer-guitarist the Edge revealed that the Irish group plans to release a DVD from its current Elevation world tour, as well as what he calls the “definitive” TV show, which will air later this year.

“We are attempting to make a definitive TV live show of this tour, probably for broadcast at the end of year, maybe around Thanksgiving,” the Edge noted during the chat. “Hopefully there will be DVD after that.” He offered no other details on what form the TV show or DVD might take. Producer Steve Lillywhite is reportedly working on the DVD, but it’s unknown whether or not he’ll also be involved in the TV show.

U2 concludes the first North American leg of the Elevation tour tonight and tomorrow (June 21 and 22) at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The group then takes a two-week break before kicking off its European tour on July 6 in Copenhagen, Denmark. After the European run ends, U2 will return to North America for more dates in the fall, although no details have been announced yet.
