The Tailor of Panama is coming to DVD

The world has come to know Pierce Brosnan as the superspy James Bond, but Brosnan takes on the role of a very different kind of spy as he plays against Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush in the arthouse thriller The Tailor of Panama. Everyone who missed the theatrical run will have a second chance to catch the film when Columbia TriStar Home Video releases it this September.

Ruthless, seductive British spy Andy Osnard (Brosnan) may have been banished to Panama, but he’s got a secret weapon – Harry Pendel (Rush). Harry, a cockney ex-con who has re-invented himself as a popular tailor to the rich and powerful of the country, is married to Louisa, a smart, sexy American woman who gives him a sense of safety and security. But Harry’s talent for storytelling compels him to weave an elaborate tale that’s not only taken as truth, but sets off a chain of events that threatens to destroy everything he treasures most in life.

“The Tailor of Panama” will be released with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and English audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround sound. Director John Boorman will provide an audio commentary for the DVD. Additional features include The Perfect Fit: A Conversation with Pierce Brosnan and Geoffrey Rush, an Alternate Ending with optional commentary, filmographies and a theatrical trailer.

Coming to DVD on September 11th, “The Tailor of Panama” will carry a suggested retail price of $24.95
