Baseball can’t escape the influence of DVD

In the category of truly bizzarre news, the Houston Astros soared past the San Diego Padres yesterday with a final score of 8-4 in a baseball game that was expected to be much closer.

The Padre’s pitcher, rookie righthander Wascar Serrano was apparently not prepared for an emergency start when the team’s leading pitcher Adam Eaton suffered a sudden injury prior to the match. According to the team, Eaton suffered a minor stab wound while trying to open a DVD player with a knife following Wednesday’s contest. He was taken to a local hospital, where he received two stitches. This may very well be the first DVD related injury in the history of sports.

The moral of this story… Don’t open a DVD player with a knife.
