So Long and Thanks For All the Fish!
Douglas Adams, the well respected author of the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” passed away suddenly in his home in California over the weekend. He was only forty-nine years old.
Although the author of several novels, Adams is best known for his “Hitchhiker” books which sold over 14 million copies since the initial book which was originally published in 1979. Adam’s was still actively seeking new projects and claimed at a recent appearance at Michigan Technological University that he was pursuing a theatrical release for “Hitchhiker’s Guide”. Sadly, he will now never see that plan come to fruition.
Douglas Adams will be missed by many. Hopefully, Hollywood will someday adapt his work for the silver screen and eventual DVD release. In the mean time, we’ll enjoy his books, and never forget our towels.
