Dean Martin graces DVD in That’s Amore

Dean Martin, one of the seminal actor/singers of the 1960’s was perhaps best known to many through his successful NBC television series “The Dean Martin Show”. Next month Capitol Records will release over twenty classic performances from the long running series on its newest DVD, Dean Martin: That’s Amore.

The video opens with Dean Martin in sing a solo rendition of “Almost Like Being in Love.” This is followed by a short two-minute documentary that puts Martin’s life and tremendous career in perspective. The remainder of the video is, in essence, a Dean Martin concert. Martin is seen singing many of his greatest hits, as well as renditions of standards done in his own unique style. The songs include “That’s Amore”, “You Made Me Love You”, “Where Or When”, “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face”, “Old Man River”, “Pennies from Heaven”, C’est Si Bon“, a medley with Petula Clark, ”Oh Marie“, ”Somewhere there’s a Someone“, ”It Had to be You“, a medley with Peggy Lee, ”I’m in the Mood for Love“, ”Young at Heart“, ”L-O-V-E“, ”Memories are Made of This“, ”Houston“, ”Bye Bye Blackbird“, ”Blue Moon“, ”I’m Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter“, ”Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime“, and three bonus tracks only available on DVD; ”I Wonder Who’s Kissing Her Now“, ”Pretty Baby“ and ”Caroline in the Morning”.

The DVD will be available in a few weeks on June 5th, and will carry a price yet to be determined.
