Tootsie finally comes to DVD in May

Dustin Hoffman fans will be pleased to hear that Columbia TriStar will finally releasing the 1982 comedy Tootsie on DVD. Michael Dorsey is desperate; he can’t find a job. That is, until he gets a female role in a soap opera and becomes very famous. Of course, nobody knows that this new television star is a man… But, after a while, he falls in love with the leading actress of the series, and here is the big problem: how can he express his feelings, since she thinks that Michael is a woman?

“Tootsie” will feature an anamorphic widescreen as well as a fullscreen version and will contain Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Surround, and Mono audio tracks. Filmographies will also be on the disc. The release will be part of Columbia TriStar’s new VIP Pass Promotion, in which consumers obtain points to enter into an auction to win Inside Hollywood prizes.

“Tootsie” is scheduled for release on May 29th at a suggested retail price of $24.95.
