Columbia TriStar Home Video has scheduled Mike Nichols’ Postcards from the Edge on May 1.

“Postcards from the Edge” is based on actress Carrie Fisher’s best-selling autobiography. Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine star as daughter and mother in this wickedly witty exposé of life in the Hollywood fast lane. A wisecracking, vulnerable actress is determined to jump start her failing career. As her aging movie star mother, Shirley MacLaine offers the definitive portrait of Hollywood’s gutsy glamour queens in scenes spiked with razor-edged humor and searing honesty.

The DVD features an anamorphic widescreen transfer of the film as well as a fullscreen presentation, that are featuring a Dolby Surround audio track. The disc also features an audio commentary track by Carrie Fisher as well as the movie’s theatrical trailer and Production Notes.

“Postcards from the Edge” is scheduled for release on May 1 and carry a suggested retail price of $24.95.
