Warner Home Video has just unveiled details about a release of the British comedy series Blackadder starring the inimitable Rowan Atkinson. On five separate DVDs, or as a complete Collector’s Set, “Blackadder” will split your sides on May 15.

Many great dynasties, strong and brave, have played a part in shaping Britain’s heritage. The Blackadders are not among them. From cowards to cads and back again, the Blackadders have managed to seriously lower the integrity of every era through which they have wended their serpentine way. The 6 episode Series One stars Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) as scheming coward Edmund “The Blackadder,” third in line for the English crown in the late 1400s.

Each of the discs contains six episodes from the British TV series, presented in their original full frame aspect ratio. The discs will contain Outtakes and Interviews, as well as “Blackadder” Specials, Karaoke segments and cast & crew biographies.

The individual release of “Blackadder” will be released at a suggested retail price of $24.98 each, while the complete Collector’s Set will retail for $119.98.
