Dream Theater goes live on DVD with Metropolis 2000

We have just received word that the progressive hard rock band Dream Theater will be releasing the live video Metropolis 2000: Scenes From New York on DVD on March 20.

Directed by the band’s drummer Mike Portnoy, the DVD will feature the album “Scenes From A Memory” in its entirety from its final performance at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on August 30th, 2000. But the DVD will also contain a few exciting extras, such as a running length audio commentary track by all Dream Theater members. It should be extremely interesting to hear the band talk about the performance, its strengths and weaknesses, as well as supplying background information about the material per se. The DVD will also contain over 1 hour of bonus live material from the tour, as well as a full blown behind-the-scenes Documentary.

The release is rounded out by a “Metropolis 2000 World Tour” Photo Gallery with a collection of many great images.
