Although Finding Forrester is still running in movie theaters across the country, Columbia TriStar Home Video is already scheduling Gus Van Sant’s powerful drama for release on DVD. The titles is slated to hit the silver disc on June 1.

Because of his exceptionally high scores on a statewide standardized exam, combined with his outstanding abilities as a basketball player, Jamal Wallace (Robert Brown) is sent to a prestigious prep school in Manhattan. He soon befriends the reclusive writer, William Forester (Sean Conery). The friendship leads to William to overcome his isolation, and for Jamal to overcome the racial prejudices and pursue his true dream – writing.
