John Lennon goes to war in April in How I Won The War

Fans of the late, great John Lennon will be pleased to hear that MGM Home Entertainment has scheduled How I Won The War for release on April 10.

In this little-seen comedy that was directed by Richard Lester, the man behind the Beatles movies, John Lennon and Roy Kinnear star as Gripweed and Clapper, two ill-fated enlisted men under the command of a middle-aged Lieutenant Earnest Goodbody (Michael Crawford), whose pompous memories of his wartime heroics cannot hide his ineptitude in battle.

The DVD will feature a widescreen presentation of the movie in its 1.66:1 aspect ratio and come with an English Dolby Digital Mono audio track, as well as a Spanish language track. No bonus features other than the movie’s theatrical trailer will be included, but at least, the DVD comes at the fair price of $19.98.
