Columbia takes you into Stephen King territory with “Sleepwalkers”

Columbia TriStar Home Video hopes to scare you Sleepless in January when they release the DVD of Stephen King’s Sleepwalkers (1992).

‘Sleepwalkers’ is the terrifying tale of modern-day vampires who prey on virtuous young women. Mädchen Amick is the sexually curious virgin who falls for the new boy in school, only to learn too late that he’s a life-sucking Sleepwalker. Mutating at will from golden boy to savage monster, he stalks her to feed his seductive mother. As the tension mounts, the town’s tabbies gather for a final, chilling showdown with the monsters in their midst.

Directed by Mick Garris, the film stars Mädchen Amick Brian Krause, and Alice Krige, and features cameo appearances by Stephen King, Clive Barker and John Landis.

Columbia is preparing a widescreen transfer for this disc, letterboxed at 1.85:1, and is also including the Pan and Scan version. Audio will be Dolby Digital ProLogic surround, with Dolby Stereo tracks available in French and Spanish. Subtitles are available in Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, and Thai. Extras include production notes, trailers, and talent files.

‘Stephen King’s Sleepwalkers’ is scheduled for release on January 16th. The suggested retail price is $24.95.
