Columbia puts you “Under Suspicion” in January

Columbia TriStar Home Video is getting ready to release Under Suspicion to DVD at the start of the new year.

This psychological thriller is the story of a rich lawyer (Gene Hackman) who discovers a dead girl while jogging. After he reports it, the police detain him for a heated, all-night round of questioning. As the evening wears on, more questions are raised about the lawyer’s personal life and he and the lead inspector (Morgan Freeman) come to loggerheads as more layers of truth are revealed.

This remake of Claude Miller’s hit 1981 film Garde à vue, was a pet project of Gene Hackman for many years, and was selected for the Cannes Film Festival last year. Directed by Stephen Hopkins (Lost in Space), the movie stars Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman, Monica Bellucci, Thomas Jane, Nydia Caro, and Miguel Ángel.

Columbia is preparing an enhanced widescreen transfer, letterboxed at 1.85:1, as well as a Pan & Scan version for this disc. Audio will be both Dolby Digital 5.1 and ProLogic surround tracks. Bonus features include an audio commentary by Stephen Hopkins, and Morgan Freeman, a ‘making of’ featurette, talent files and the film’s theatrical trailer.

‘Under Suspicion’ is scheduled for release on January 2nd, and it will have a suggested retail price of $24.95.
