The scheduled DVD release of the Orson Welles thriller Touch Of Evil has seen some unexpected changes. Universal Home Video just informed us that the DVD will no longer be a Collector’s Edition release as previously announced, but a standard release.

The documentary “Reconstructing Evil: The Making Of Touch Of Evil” will not be included on the DVD for unknown reasons. However, the 58 page Orson Welles memo to Universal Studios, plus the full 111 minute restored feature will still be part of the release.

The street date and the price of the release remain unchanged and “Touch Of Evil” is still scheduled for release on October 31 through Universal Home Video carrying a suggested retail price of $29.98.
