Columbia set to release classic His Girl Friday in November.

Fans of great classic comedy are sure to be pleased to hear that Columbia/Tristar Home Video is releasing the great 1940’s comedy His Girl Friday on DVD in November.

With a great cast and directed by the legendary Howard Hawks, the movie tells the story of an unscrupulous newspaper editor (Cary Grant) uses every dirty trick in the book to keep his ace reporter/ex-wife (Rosalind Russell) from retiring and remarrying.

The disc will come in its original full screen format with a Dolby Digital Mono soundtrack in both English and Spanish language. Included are subtitles in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean and Thai. Now that’s accommodating!

Bonus materials include: an audio commentary by film critic and author Todd McCarthy, four featurettes: Cary Grant: ‘Making Headlines’, The Inside Scoop: Rosalind Russell, Reporter’s Notebook: Howard Hawks, and The Funny Pages. Vintage advertising, talent files (Howard Hawks, Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell and Ralph Bellamy) and trailers for ‘His Girl Friday,’ ‘Born Yesterday,’ ‘It Happened One Night’ and ‘Pal Joey’ round out the package.

The disc will be released on November 21st. It will have a suggested retail price of $24.95.
