Prepare to be ‘Shanghaied’ in October

Buena Vista Home Entertainment has announced the DVD release of the Jackie Chan Eastern/Western comedy, Shanghai Noon.

Produced by Touchstone Pictures, the story follows Chong Wang (Jackie Chan), a not-so-highly regarded imperial guard in the Forbidden City, China. Roy O“ Bannon (Owen Wilson) is a wannabe train robber in Nevada. When her imperial highness, Princess Pei-Pei (Lucy Liu) is kidnapped from the Forbidden City, only these two unlikely heroes can save her, but first, they have to survive. Along the way to Carson City they encounter the wackiest and wildest western adventure of their lives…and then some.

The film will come in a 16×9 Enhanced transfer in the movie’s original 2.35:1 aspect ratio, and feature a Dolby 5.1 audio track. Bonus materials include several Featurettes: ”Making an Eastern Western’, “The Shanghai Kid’, and ‘Western Stunts, Eastern Style’; Audio Commentary; Deleted Scenes; a Photo Gallery; and an Imperial Guards and Cowboys Game.

The disc will be released on October 10th and carry a suggested retail price of $29.99.
