Just in time for Halloween, Buena Vista Home Entertainment brings us the return of everyone’s favorite Cenobite, Pinhead, in Hellraiser: Inferno.

Produced by Dimension Studios, the film, directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Craig Sheffer and Nicholas Turturro, is the fifth movie in Clive Barker’s venerable Hellraiser series.

This time, the story chronicles a dirty L.A. detective who finds himself lost in the nightmarish world of Hell, when he solves the mysterious puzzle box and releases the demon in the form of Pinhead. As those around him begin to meet tragic fates, he sets out to confront Pinhead, conquer the demons and escape eternal Hell.

The disc features a 16×9 Enhanced transfer in the movie’s original 1.78:1 aspect ratio, as well as a Dolby 5.1 sound track. Bonus materials include the Featurette: “Secrets of Pinhead Revealed”; as well as “A Conversation With Doug Bradley” (Pinhead).

Though with fewer extras than Buena Vista’s “Shanhai Noon”, the movie will carry a larger suggested retail price of $32.95 when it’s released on October 10th.

Hmmm, perhaps the marketing folks were a bit intimidated by reprisals from the fellow in the picture…
