MGM Home Video acquires the rights to 11 more Woody Allen movies

Word just came in that MGM Home Video has just bought the rights to 11 more Woody Allen movies. The films are a mix of movies from the past two decades, expanding MGM’s Woody Allen catalog to 19 titles. MGM has acquired the rights to these films directly from Woody Allen in a seven-figure deal.

The titles that are part of this new acquisition are Alice, A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy, Another Woman, Broadway Danny Rose, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Hannah and Her Sisters, Purple Rose of Cairo, Radio Days, September, Shadows and Fog and Zelig.

Excited yet? But you will have to wait a little. The studio has plans to release these additional 11 titles as a second collection on both VHS and DVD next year to complement the recently released “Woody Allen Collection.” But then again, there’s good waiting for a sure thing…
