We’ve received a press release from MGM announcing the release of 5 films for DVD in November. Most of these are good films, but the list is notable because it includes a movie that’s been on many people’s must-have list since the debut of DVD: Escape From New York!

Here’s the basic information we’ve received:

Escape from New York (1981): John Carpenter’s blistering and exciting view of the future starring Kurt Russell and Ernest Borgnine. The disc will include a 16×9 Enhanced Widescreen transfer as well as a full frame version; 2 channel surround, a collectible booklet and a trailer.

The Bounty (1984): Starring Anthony Hopkins and Mel Gibson. The disc will come with a 16×9 Enhanced Widescreen transfer; Dolby Digital 5.1 audio; and a trailer.

Code of Silence (1985): Starring Chuck Norris. This package comes with a 16×9 Enhanced Widescreen transfer; Dolby Digital mono track and a trailer.

Malice (1993): Starring Alec Baldwin, Nicole Kidman, and Bill Pullman. This one also comes with a 16×9 Enhanced Widescreen transfer; 2 channel surround and a trailer.

Class (1983): Starring Rob Lowe. Not to be left out, this disc also comes with a 16×9 Enhanced Widescreen transfer; Dolby Digital mono soundtrack and a trailer.

All films will be released on November 21st and will carry a suggested retail price of $19.98, meaning you should be able to pick them up for less than 15 bucks!
