Columbia readies Donnie Brasco Special Edition for November release

Columbia/Tristar is getting ready to release Donnie Brasco: Special Edition this November.

The based-on-fact movie stars Al Pacino and Johnny Depp in a gangland thriller about an undercover FBI agent who befriends a hitman to gain entry to the mob.

The first thing that sets this apart from the previous release is a new widescreen transfer that is enhanced for 16×9 TVs, along with the requisite Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby 2-Channel Surround tracks. Aside from a new transfer, the extras are numerous and interesting: an audio commentary by director Mike Newell, a featurette: ‘Donnie Brasco: Out from the Shadows’, a ‘making of’ featurette, five deleted scenes with optional director’s commentary and intro, an isolated music score, a photo gallery, talent files of Mike Newell, Al Pacino, Johnny Depp, Anne Heche, Michael Madsen and Bruno Kirby, and several trailers.

‘Donnie Brasco Special Edition’ will be released on November 7th and will carry a suggested retail price of $29.95.
