Columbia brings classic Hayworth to DVD in November

The folks at Columbia/Tristar are sure to please many fans of classic film by bringing the Rita Hayworth classic Gilda to DVD this November.

Just arrived in Argentina, small-time crooked gambler Johnny Farrell (Glenn Ford) is saved from a gunman by sinister Ballin Mundson (George Macready), who later makes Johnny his right-hand man. But their friendship based on mutual lack of scruples is strained when Mundson returns from a trip with a wife: the supremely desirable Gilda (Rita Hayworth), whom Johnny once knew and learned to hate. The relationship of Johnny and Gilda, a battlefield of warring emotions, becomes even more bizarre after Mundson disappears.

Columbia will present ‘Gilda’ in the film’s original full screen format with a Dolby Digital Mono audio track. Extras on the disc will include: the Rita Hayworth documentary: ‘The Columbia Lady’, vintage advertising, talent files of director Charles Vidor, Rita Hayworth, Glenn Ford, George Macready, and several trailers.

The disc will be released on November 7th. The suggested retail price will be $29.95.
