Cheech and Chong will smoke DVD in November

We just got information in that Paramount Home Video has scheduled the Cheech and Chong comedies Up In Smoke and Still Smokin“ for release on November 21. Both discs will feature 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfers of the movie and “Up In Smoke” will even come with a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital re-mix.

Cheech and Chong make their film debut in “Up In Smoke,” a riotous rock’n” roll comedy, bringing with them the same madness, lifestyles and sketches that sold over 10 million records in the early “70s. Man Stoner (Tommy Chong) is thrown out of his rich parent’s Hollywood Hill’s home and hooks up with Pedro De Pacas (Cheech Marin) the leader of a rock-and-roll band. After they meet on a highway, they go out to looking for some pot and accidentally end up being deported to Mexico. They need to get back to the states for a “battle-of-the-bands” gig and so unwittingly offer to drive a van made almost intirely of marijuana back to Los Angeles.

In “Still Smokin”” the two are just… well, smokin“! Cheech and Chong at their wildest, craziest and most medicated, doing all those zonked-out characters and hilarious routines that made them what they are today–comedy legends. Cheech and Chong arrive in Amsterdam to attend a film festival, only to discover that they must pose as Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton in order to attend the event. Both discs; will also contain the respective movie’s theatrical trailer and carry a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Paramount has also scheduled the Bing Crosby musical White Christmas for release on November 21, with a commentary track, photo gallery, and a documentary.
