Quadrophenia comes to DVD in October

Rhino Home Video just announced plans to release the British cult phenomenon Quadrophenia on DVD in October. Scheduled for release on October 10, this 1979 movie based on an album by the British rock band “The Who” squares off Mods against the rest of the world in London of 1965. Soon after its release, this film about rebellious English youth of the 60s quickly became rock classic and features Sting in his first film role.

According to the information we have, the DVD will feature a 115-minute version of the movie, which seems odd, as the film’s original running length was 120 minutes. Since many details of the disc are still unannounced, this however may just be a misprint in the studio’s announcement at this time.
