Image Entertainment with new Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Sales

Image Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq:DISK) today announced the promotion of David Borshell to Chief Operating Officer and Barry Gordon to Vice President, Sales. David Borshell, a fifteen-year Image veteran, will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer. Borshell has risen through various management positions within the Company. His most recent post was as Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Operations. Borshell is an active member and represents Image for the DVD Entertainment Group, the industry association representing the major studios, record labels and consumer electronics companies formed to promote the DVD format. In his new position, Borshell will oversee all day to day operations of the Company, including those of DVDPlanet.com, the Company’s wholly owned e-commerce subsidiary, and the efforts of Aviva International, the Company’s joint venture partner for international sales and distribution. Borshell will additionally explore new hardware partnerships and strategic alliances for the Company. Borshell will continue to report to Martin W. Greenwald, CEO.

Barry Gordon, a twelve-year veteran of the home video industry, has been promoted to Vice President, Sales. Gordon joined the company in March 1999 as Director of Business Development and has been a key factor in expanding the Company’s distribution into new classes of trade through his experience with interactive products, e-commerce, retail merchandising and digital distribution of content via the Internet. Prior to joining Image, Gordon held positions with STV Communications and BMG Distribution. Gordon will report to David Borshell.
