A Fantastic Double-Feature from Columbia TriStar is coming in October

With his own special brand of creative “muppetry”, Jim Henson created extravagant fantasies with both The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth (which combines muppets with live actors), that appeal to the young of all ages. Now Columbia TriStar Home Video. is repackaging these two fantasy classics as a DVD gift set. Although the discs in the set will identical to the individual versions released earlier, here is a quick run-down of the features found on each one of them.

Both films will feature Anamorphic Widescreen transfers in their original aspect ratio of 2.35:1, and will retain the extras of the original discs.

“The Dark Crystal” includes both Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2-Channel Surround audio with language tracks and Subtitles in English and Spanish. Special features on the disc include: Deleted Scenes; a Making-Of Documentary: The World of “The Dark Crystal”; Character Drawings and Profiles; Original Character Work Print Scenes; an Isolated Music Score; and Talent Files of directors Jim Henson and Frank Oz, and conceptual designer Brian Froud.

“Labyrinth” comes with Doubly 2-Channel audio, with Subtitles in English and Spanish. The disc includes the Making-Of Documentary:, “Inside the Labyrinth”; Making-Of Documentary: Talent FilesMaking-Of Documentary: of Jim Henson, actors David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly and producer George Lucas; and several trailers.

The set will be released on October 3rd, and carry a suggested retail price of $44.95.
