Previously available only as part of the strictly limited Army Of Darkness 2-disc box set, on July 25, Anchor Bay Entertainment will finally make the extended Director’s Cut of Army Of Darkness – which could be found on disc 2 of the box set – available on DVD as a separate release. Also restricted in availability, this release too will be a “Limited Edition” consisting of only 40,000 DVDs, giving many fans, who did not have the chance to get their hands on the rare 2-disc box set, to see the extended cut of the film with an audio commentary by director Sam Raimi, actor Bruce Campbell and co-writer Ivan Raimi. The film will be presented in 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer and contains 15 minutes of additional footage, including the movie’s original ending. The disc also contains 4 deleted scenes and the director’s storyboards.

The DVD also carries a personal liner-note by Bruce Campbell on the outside sleeve. We are happy that we are able to offer you an early look at the packaging for this release, as the packaging artwork is very different from the previous DVD releases of the film. Since this release will finally give many more fans the chance to experience the unedited version of the film on DVD, be sure to put in your orders for this DVD early,to make sure you’re not missing out on this release, that is also limited in quantities!
